Authenticator

Identity and authentication user experience case study.

Identity UXConcept
Public adaptation, not the actual production application. Revised to respect confidentiality obligations; no client, employer or company endorsement or affiliation is claimed. Original implementation not verified; this is not a working authenticator.

Implementation notes — Authenticator

Evidence ledger

  • Exact intended application source and ownership not established.
  • Do not confuse a third-party authentik source tree with a custom authored authenticator app.

Functional narrative

A portfolio documentation shell for an authenticator app. It intentionally contains no working secret-generation logic, user recovery paths, or client-specific identity flows.

Functional areas

  • Illustrative account setup screen — unverified
  • Illustrative code or passkey UX — unverified
  • Illustrative recovery and security UX — unverified

Implementation constraints

  • No statement of MFA standards compliance, cryptographic correctness, security review or App Store availability.
  • Never store or publish OTP seeds, backup codes, signing secrets, issuer metadata or real QR enrollment payloads.

What this repository implements

  • Markdown documentation, project-level metadata, safe viewer mode classification and release checklists.
  • No actual application runtime, private source tree, database schema, email transport, credentials or deployment wiring.
  • No real live preview is wired without an approved separate demo endpoint.

Mapping from source to public presentation

The source references have been read for high-level technical accuracy, but private repositories and URLs are intentionally not disclosed in this publication. Documentation is paraphrased and stripped of confidential configuration. Technical assumptions requiring full source review remain marked as unverified.

Upgrade path

  1. Verify exact product and canonical source/version with the rights holder.
  2. Inventory features that may safely be demonstrated.
  3. Capture anonymized screenshots and create fake-data demo fixtures.
  4. Independently test each indicated platform.
  5. Update portfolio.json only after a reviewer approves the published claim.
This independent showcase can differ from actual systems and may omit confidential details. See the full disclaimer and the public GitHub repository.
